Senior Platform Engineer
About the role
Join us as a Platform Engineer and be part of a dynamic team driving a major transformation within Capital One. Our team focuses on creating and supporting DevOps tools with emerging technologies, and you'll play a dual-impact role by engineering high-availability systems and ensuring our core internal platforms remain high-performing and "well-managed."
Responsibilities
- Work with product owners to understand desired application capabilities and testing scenarios
- Continuously improve software engineering practices
- Work within and across Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement and support technical solutions across a full-stack of development tools and technologies
- Lead the craftsmanship, availability, resilience, and scalability of your solutions
- Bridge the gap between innovative AI exploration and the operational excellence required to support a global workforce
Requirements
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification
- At least 4 years of experience using build and deployment tools (Jenkins, GitHub, or Artifactory)
- At least 2 years of experience with AWS
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience with AWS
- 2+ years of experience in Agile practices
Skills
- Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, SQL, Ruby and Groovy
- Experience with Container Orchestration services including Docker and ECS
- Experience with CM tools including Ansible and Terraform
- Experience with a variety of AWS tools and services
