The Senior Planner position at Edward Jones is ideal for individuals with a strong background in financial planning and experience with complex financial planning concepts. The role involves serving as a conduit between the financial advisor, client, and home office stakeholders, delivering an unparalleled experience through an ongoing relationship.
Responsibilities
- Service as a conduit between the financial advisor, client, and home office stakeholders
- Deliver an end-to-end high net worth (HNW) client experience by partnering within and outside of the organization
- Engage in client goal discovery, formulate financial planning recommendations, and act as a fiduciary to the client's financial plan
- Develop and execute HNW team objectives, accountability measures, and drive team performance
- Lead strategy and guidance for presentations through various communication and presentation venues
- Act as an advanced subject matter expert in Financial Planning, Discovery, and a broad range of other areas of client-specific emphasis
- Provide strategic thought, people leadership, and execution
Requirements
- Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation required
- Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, Accounting, or Law required
- 10+ years of industry-specific experience required
- Series 7, 66 licenses required within 6 months of hire
- Insurance license required within 6 months of hire
- Travel required up to 20%
Qualifications
- Advanced degree; CPA, JD, CFA, or additional financial planning certification preferred
- Experience living within a commutable distance from Tempe, AZ or St. Louis, MO home office locations preferred

- Strong background in financial planning
- Proficiency using financial planning software or tools
- Ability to interpret financial planning results
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and prospects
