About the Role

Our SE Region is seeking experienced Pipeline Engineers to sit in our Atlanta, GA, Charlotte, NC, or Chattanooga, TN offices. This role involves oversight of pipeline engineering and consulting services for clients across the US, with a focus on leading the creation of pipeline design deliverables. Projects vary from small utility distribution upgrades to large transmission projects. This position offers opportunities to influence the growth and success of the Pipelines group, with potential to advance into leadership roles.

Responsibilities

  • Lead in the execution of engineering activities, including pipeline design (plans, profiles, details, and bill of materials)
  • Coordinate survey, geotechnical investigations, permitting, and land acquisition
  • Perform calculations for studies and reports
  • Prepare material and equipment specifications for procurement and factory acceptance testing
  • Lead preparation of proposals and scope development, including conceptual designs, cost estimates, and schedules
  • Coordinate design activities with other disciplines (Pipeline Facilities, Civil/Structural, Electrical, Instrumentation and Control, etc.)
  • Develop and improve processes, tools, and factory acceptance testing
  • Provide leadership, training, and mentoring to less experienced engineers and team members
  • Meet and correspond with clients or outside personnel
  • Provide short-term field support during construction
  • Support business development and marketing initiatives

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering (or related field from an ABET-accredited program) and 7 years of pipeline engineering experience, or
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering Technology (or related field from an ABET-accredited program), successful completion of the FE exam, and 7 years of pipeline engineering experience, or
  • Master's degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering and 6 years of pipeline engineering experience
  • EPC project experience preferred
  • Expert knowledge in standard engineering techniques and procedures
  • Strong computer skills (AutoCAD, MicroStation, ATF)
  • Proficiency with 49 CFR Part 192 and ASME B31.8; familiarity with 49 CFR Part 195 and ASME B31.4 is a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience leading discipline design for large projects and delegating tasks
  • Ability to resolve issues in a team environment
  • Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, and organization skills
  • Ability to perform quality reviews for engineering documents and specifications
  • Willingness to travel (15% of the time)
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License preferred

This position is open in Atlanta, GA; Charlotte, NC; and Chattanooga, TN. It is a full-time role with travel requirements.
