Responsibilities

  • Assist with reading, interpreting, and processing prescriptions under pharmacist supervision, including counting, pouring, reconstituting medications, selecting containers, and labeling.
  • Verify correct prescriptions at pickup and accept payment.
  • Maintain accurate patient profiles and communicate with prescribers for refills and insurance carriers to resolve claims.
  • Triage phone calls and assist patients at drop-off and pick-up.
  • Maintain medication and supply inventory, order non-CII items, and remove expired or unclaimed medications.
  • Support inventory preparation and uphold safety and labeling standards, especially for lookalike/sound-alike drugs.
  • Oversee pharmacy inventory management, including:
    • Monitoring and managing medication outdates
    • Coordinating and documenting medication recalls
    • Processing reverse distribution activities
    • Conducting monthly 340B diversion drug inventory audits
    • Reviewing and resolving monthly negative inventory reports
    • Supporting and participating in the annual physical inventory
  • Ensure regulatory compliance through accurate documentation, proper record archiving, daily/monthly reporting, and refrigerator temperature logs.
  • Follow corporate compliance and loss prevention policies.
  • Maintain active Pharmacy Technician License, support technician student training, and stay informed on industry updates.
  • Contribute to a clean and organized work environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree preferred.
  • Completion of a Florida approved pharmacy technician program (State of Florida Pharmacy Technician Registration).
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a pharmacy technician, with at least 1 year in a senior or lead role preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of pharmacy operations, medication safety standards, and applicable regulations.

Qualifications

  • State of Florida Pharmacy Technician Registration, required.
  • Current and active Pharmacy Technician Certification, preferred.
