Senior Pharmacy Technician
About the role
The Acute Care Pharmacy Tech III performs duties related to the filling and dispensing of unit‑dose and stock medications from the pharmacy to nursing units and other ancillary departments in a prompt, accurate manner. Responsibilities include filling and dispensing oral and IV medications, triaging patient orders, and maintaining the integrity of the automated dispensing system (ADS). The role requires advanced knowledge and skills in two or more specialty areas of pharmacy.
Responsibilities
- Fill and dispense unit‑dose and stock medications to nursing units and ancillary departments.
- Prepare and dispense oral and intravenous medications.
- Triaging patient medication orders.
- Maintain the integrity and operation of the automated dispensing system (ADS).
- Apply advanced knowledge in two or more pharmacy specialty areas.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Washington Pharmacy Technician License (required upon hire).
- Either:
- Minimum 2 years (≥ 4,160 clock hours) of pharmacy practice in an integrated health system **and** PTCB certification, or
- Minimum 3 years (≥ 6,240 clock hours) of hospital pharmacy experience if the technician does not have PTCB certification.
Preferred Qualifications
- Graduation from a Pharmacy Tech program approved by the Washington State Board of Pharmacy.
- Experience with Automated Dispensing Machines (ADMs).
- Experience using electronic health records (EHR).

Pay
Base pay range: $24.97 – $38.21 per hour. Additional compensation may be available, such as shift differentials, standby/on‑call pay, overtime, premiums, extra‑shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
Schedule
Per‑diem / on‑call with variable shift hours.
