Responsibilities
- Understand the business model and engage appropriate business unit subject matter experts to explore potential opportunities with clients.
- Provide maintenance and holistic advice on assigned relationships by cross-selling and identifying client needs.
- Execute and/or submit client account servicing activities within appropriate time frames, including processing wires and fund transfers, opening and closing accounts, maintaining accurate account records, imaging documents, and researching client issues.
- Proactively communicate with relationship management and NCSS teams to obtain necessary information for requested activities.
- Handle paying and receiving activities, including cash transactions and daily balancing.
- Adhere to all WM Lobby Banking Operations policies and procedures as documented on the WM Intranet.
- Assist with maintenance and servicing of Safe Deposit Boxes where available.
- Demonstrate expertise in setting up all types of client accounts and services.
- Review documentation for completeness and follow through to avoid deficiencies relating to deposit accounts.
- Maintain a strong understanding of policies and procedures, addressing requirements in a timely manner while strictly adhering to Northern Trust and Wealth Management Risk Management and Compliance guidelines. Escalate issues or concerns promptly to management.
- Maintain knowledge of business applications critical to client and account servicing, including online tools, and stay updated on the latest enhancements to Northern Trust’s technology and systems.
- Stay informed about new products and services to respond to client questions and assist in expanding client relationships.
- Monitor banking reports and assist with audits as directed by the Team Leader/Manager.
- Serve as a mentor to fellow Personal Bankers, offering guidance and direction as needed.
- Share expertise in deposit banking and train others as designated by the Team Leader/Manager.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of related experience.
- Knowledge of banking operations, products, and services, preferably acquired through related work experience.
- Knowledge of federal regulations and banking guidelines, usually acquired through related work experience or formal training.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills to manage conflicting priorities and workflow.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
