Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in a related area, or relevant field
- 5+ years of experience processing high-volume, multi-state payroll and managing payroll tax for mid- to large-size companies
- Able to work independently in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with tight deadlines
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
Responsibilities
- Serve as escalation point and SME for complex payroll and tax issues, including amendments and tax discrepancies
- Lead the month, quarter, and year-end payroll tax process
- Run payroll tax integrations, research, correct discrepancies, and prepare reconciliations
- Responsible for ensuring the execution of monthly, quarterly, and annual workers’ comp audit and tax incentive requests
- RSU processing, including pre-payments/reversals, running integrations, researching, and correcting tax variances
- Create and maintain complex Workday and payroll system reports
- Maintain, test, and implement payroll tax updates, functionality, and process improvements
- Research regulatory changes and assess the impact on payroll systems and processes
- Lead and support payroll projects, system testing, and issue resolution across teams
- Mentor and guide payroll team members; support management with departmental goals, projects, and continuous improvement initiatives
