Responsibilities
- Manage and approve payroll tax transactions, filings, amendments, and jurisdiction setups across federal, state, and local agencies
- Ensure timely and accurate periodic, quarterly, and annual payroll tax reporting requirements
- Validate W2 reporting and process corrections to maintain compliance and accuracy
- Research and resolve payroll tax agency notices, discrepancies, and compliance issues
- Monitor changes in payroll tax legislation and assess organizational impact
- Support payroll system updates, tax table maintenance, testing activities, and interface validations
- Oversee audit controls, workers compensation audits, and payroll tax compliance activities
- Validate payroll related programs including reimbursements, incentives, taxable benefits, pay card programs, and union dues processing
Requirements
- 3 or more years of payroll tax experience in a complex corporate environment
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong expertise in payroll tax laws across federal, state, local, multi state, and multi entity environments
- Experience with payroll tax reporting and compliance through ADP SmartCompliance
- Hands on experience with ADP tax filing processes and payroll tax reconciliations
- Functional experience with Oracle Payroll preferred
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills
- Strong analytical, problem solving, organizational, and communication skills
Preferred Skills
- Experience supporting large scale payroll operations with high employee volume
- Knowledge of PeopleSoft payroll environments
- Experience managing payroll tax audits and agency correspondence
- Understanding of payroll interfaces, system testing, and process improvement initiatives
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across departments
