Senior Payroll Specialist

Opportunity Details

The Senior Payroll Specialist will be responsible for organizing, auditing, and transmitting bi-weekly payroll. They will also review timecards and answer employees' inquiries, process employee reimbursements, handle union dues/pension reports, ensure compliance with payroll laws, maintain accurate and timely schedules for payroll data, assist with new setups for the payroll system, support and interact with operations and HR at all affiliates, develop reports requested by affiliates, review cross-departmental impacts and reconcile data sharing, and possibly travel once every other week to affiliates in the Bronx, Manhattan, and Brooklyn.

Responsibilities

  • Organize, audit, and transmit bi-weekly payroll
  • Review timecards and answer employees’ inquiries
  • Process employee reimbursements, as needed
  • Process union dues/union pension reports
  • Ensure payroll laws, compliance, and confidentiality, and union requirements are adhered to
  • Maintain an accurate and timely schedule for reporting and processing of payroll data
  • Aid with any new setup for the payroll system
  • Support and interact with Operations and HR at all Affiliates
  • Develop reports requested by the Affiliates
  • Review cross-departmental impacts and reconcile data sharing
  • Possibly travel once every other week to Affiliates in the Bronx, Manhattan, and Brooklyn

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in payroll administration
  • Knowledge of payroll systems and software
  • Strong organizational and attention to detail skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in managing large-scale payroll processes
  • Experience working in a healthcare setting preferred
  • Knowledge of labor laws and regulations
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

Pay

$80,000 - $90,000 annually

Schedule

Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
