Senior Payroll Analyst

Soni Resources is partnering with a growing organization seeking a Senior Payroll Analyst to run multi-state payroll, manage complex adjustments, strengthen payroll governance, and support system configuration in a high-volume environment. This role is the team’s payroll expert - solving issues end-to-end, improving processes, and ensuring accurate, compliant payroll operations. What You’ll Do:Process weekly, biweekly, and monthly multi-state payroll for 4,000+ employeesHandle complex transactions: reversals, voids, retro pay, overpayments/repayments, off-cycle runs, and prior-period correctionsPerform payroll, tax, benefits, 401(k), and GL reconciliations; resolve variances and tax noticesAudit large payroll data sets and drive root-cause analysis for recurring issues.Partner with HR, Finance, Accounting, Benefits, and vendors to resolve escalationsSupport payroll system maintenance, integrations, upgrades, and configuration (earnings/deductions)Lead process improvements, strengthen controls, and contribute to payroll governanceProvide guidance to the junior team members What You Bring:5 - 8+ years of U.S. multi-state payroll experience in a high-volume environmentStrong experience with complex adjustments and prior-period correctionsHands-on reconciliation experience (tax, benefits, 401(k), GL)Advanced Excel skills and comfort auditing large data setsAbility to work independently, manage deadlines, and handle sensitive issuesUKG Pro strongly preferred; ADP or similar-sized system experience consideredCPP preferred; FPC consideredExperience with tax notices, integrations, or SOX environments is a plusPublic company experience strongly preferred Compensation: $45 - $50/ HrSalary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications.
