What you'll do The Sr. Payroll Analyst is responsible for proactive collaboration with customers and key internal business partners within the Global Payroll organization. This role requires independent judgment and critical thinking to manage complex payroll analysis, system automation, data validation, and process improvement. The successful candidate will be highly proficient in leveraging technology to streamline payroll workflows and improve accuracy, with a strong understanding of wage and hour requirements, federal and state payroll tax regulations, HRIS/payroll processing, and system reporting. The Sr. Payroll Analyst will use data and technology to identify trends, mitigate risk, strengthen controls, and develop scalable solutions. This individual must be comfortable working in an ambiguous environment, independently investigating issues and connecting information from multiple sources to understand the full picture. They will combine large volumes of data from various reporting sources, develop scalable reconciliation and audit processes, and recommend both automated and preventative solutions. The Sr. Payroll Analyst will also serve as a key point of contact for internal stakeholders requesting payroll data, analysis, or reporting. This includes partnering with teams such as Benefits, Legal, Accounting, HR, and other business partners to understand their needs, identify the appropriate data sources, validate information, and deliver accurate and timely responses. This position is an individual contributor role reporting to the Senior Manager, Global Payroll. Responsibility Lead the processing, validation, and review of automated file imports supporting critical payroll functions, including multiple payroll imports, Specialist contributions, RSU and ESPP processing, RROP recalculations, payroll auditing, and specialized trackingAnalyze and validate payroll processing results using technology and data-driven controls. Develop and utilize reports, scripts, macros, and other automation tools to identify data anomalies before payroll completion, including variances outside established tolerance levelsGenerate and audit RSU and ESPP purchase files by extracting, combining, and validating information from HRIS and payroll systems. Perform manual adjustments when necessary and serve as the primary liaison with the internal Stock teamProcess and validate routine and complex payroll adjusting entries using automated file imports, standardized reconciliation processes, and reporting dashboardsReconcile and audit data flowing between Workday and ADP/Dayforce to ensure accurate and complete files are provided to payroll vendors. Reconcile payroll general ledger reports and partner with Accounting to research and resolve discrepanciesAct as the primary point of contact for payroll data and reporting requests from internal stakeholders, including Benefits, Legal, Accounting, HR, and other business partners. Assess requests, identify appropriate data sources, validate data integrity, and provide accurate, timely, and well-documented analysis while maintaining appropriate confidentialityPartner proactively with internal Benefits teams and external third-party vendors to evaluate, clarify, test, and implement updates to 401(k) plans and other benefit deductionsCompile, automate, analyze, and present recurring payroll metrics to leadership, highlighting system performance, processing accuracy, trends, risks, and opportunities for process improvementCreate clear and organized Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), process documentation, and video training materials for complex payroll and system processes. Cross-train team members to improve knowledge sharing, consistency, and operational resiliencyInterpret payroll policies and requirements, including holiday worked, on-call, overtime, calculation bases, and deductions, and ensure appropriate amounts are calculated, processed, and applied correctlyPerform root cause analysis for system and payroll processing errors and implement constructive and preventative corrective actions (CAPA). Provide exemplary service and support for complex payroll inquiries from employees, managers, HRBPs, internal stakeholders, and external vendorsIdentify opportunities to improve payroll processes, controls, reporting, and system functionality. Evaluate opportunities for automation and develop scalable solutions that reduce manual effort, improve accuracy, and strengthen payroll controls Job Designation Remote: Employee is not required to be in or near an office frequently and works from a designated remote work location for the majority of the time. What you bring Basic Bachelor's degree8+ years of experience in payroll-related responsibilities, with a demonstrated track record of improving processes through automation, data analysis, and technology Preferred CPP or FPC certificationExperience with Workday and ADP/Dayforce systemsProven ability to build and manage automated data imports, advanced Excel macros, and complex system reporting to minimize manual data entry and improve accuracyStrong understanding of payroll principles, processes, compliance requirements, and controls within a shared services environmentAdvanced Excel skills and proficiency with Google Workspace applicationsProficient computer, organizational, analytical, research, and problem-solving skillsStrong data analysis and reconciliation skills, with the ability to work with large and complex data sets from multiple sourcesDemonstrated ability to identify trends, investigate discrepancies, and translate data into actionable recommendationsStrong time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple assignments and meet deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced environmentAbility to connect information across systems and processes, work effectively in ambiguity, and troubleshoot system-level processing issuesDemonstrated ability to maintain confidential information and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive payroll and employee dataExcellent interpersonal and communication skills, flexibility, and willingness to learn and adopt new technologies Wage Transparency Pay for this position is based on a number of factors including geographic location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Based on applicable legislation, the below details pay ranges in the following locations: California: $133,100.00 - $183,050.00 base salary Illinois, Colorado, Massachusetts and Minnesota: $111,900.00 - $153,900.00 base salary Washington, Maryland, New Jersey and New York (including NYC metro area): $118,000.00 - $162,250.00 base salary Washington DC: $118,000.00 - $162,250.00 base salary Ohio: $98,700.00 - $135,750.00 base salary This Role Is Also Eligible For The Following Bonus: Sales personnel are eligible for variable incentive pay dependent on their achievement of pre-established sales goals. Non-Sales roles are eligible for a company bonus plan, which is calculated as a percentage of eligible wages and dependent on company performance.Stock: This role is eligible to receive Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
