Senior Patient Services Coordinator
About the role
As a Patient Service Coordinator at EVERSANA, you will coordinate the onboarding of new patients, fully populate patient profiles, and enter prescription details. The Senior Patient Service Coordinator serves as a resource for physicians and their staff while initiating the patient’s therapy, establishing relationships with patients and their care teams.
Responsibilities
- Ensure a positive patient experience throughout the onboarding and transition process.
- Successfully onboard and set up new patients.
- Establish relationships with care partners, including physicians, nurses, caregivers, and pharmacists.
- Maintain confidentiality and integrity of protected health information; follow HIPAA security policies and procedures.
- Act as the first point of contact for all new patients.
- Verify accuracy of new patient profiles, including insurance information, and work with prescribers to complete the intake process.
- Coordinate with the nursing team to set up in-home nursing services or services at outpatient facilities.
- Work with the Reimbursement Coordinator to complete initial benefit investigations and explain benefits to patients, including financial assistance.
- Educate patients regarding disease management programs and refer patients who choose to participate.
- Examine new referrals to ensure orders are complete and all necessary documentation is included.
- Adapt and handle unexpected situations to prevent disruption of service to the patient’s therapy.
- Provide HIPAA-compliant communication to the client sales team regarding the status of new referrals.
- Manage all communication with the patient during the intake process.
- Complete forms for credit card payment requests and forward them to finance for processing.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- GED/High School Diploma and 5 years’ experience, or Associate’s Degree and 3 years’ experience.
- Reimbursement experience, including knowledge of pharmacy benefit and medical benefit insurance coverage.
- Experience in a pharmacy setting.
- Medical billing experience.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to obtain state pharmacy technician registration based on program needs.
- Ability to handle challenging patients in a professional manner.
- Computer proficiencies, including Microsoft Office.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree.
Physical/Mental Demands and Working Environment
- Largely sedentary role with regular standing and/or sitting for long periods (up to 90%).
- Regularly required to talk, hear, type, and engage in repetitive motion; occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Intermittently required to stoop, crouch, push, pull, or kneel.
- Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Requires mental alertness, including the ability to communicate verbally and in writing, concentrate on tasks, and handle stress and emotions.
- Professional office environment with moderate noise levels, frequent interruptions, and multiple demands.
Pay
If this job posting includes a base salary range, it represents the low and high end of the salary range for this position and is not applicable to locations outside of the U.S. Compensation will be determined based on relevant experience, other job-related qualifications/skills, and geographic location (to account for comparative cost of living).
