Senior Patient Scheduler
About the role
Under the direction of the Patient Access/Central Scheduling Coordinator & Patient Access/Scheduling Manager, provides training to existing and new hires in scheduling, verifies orders, schedules, registers, verifies insurance coverage and benefits, creates estimates, and obtains pre-certification, referral or authorizations as needed per insurance requirements; participates in the collection of up-front revenue due to the facility; provides quality customer service to internal and external customers; and remains responsible for obtaining accurate patient information to ensure patient satisfaction; patient safety, and hospitals quality measures are met.

Shift Details
- Full-time, 40 hours weekly
- Day shift
Responsibilities
- Provide training to existing and new hires in scheduling
- Verify orders, schedules, and register patients
- Verify insurance coverage and benefits
- Create estimates and obtain pre-certification, referral or authorizations as needed per insurance requirements
- Participate in the collection of up-front revenue due to the facility
- Provide quality customer service to internal and external customers
- Obtain accurate patient information to ensure patient satisfaction, patient safety, and hospital quality measures are met
Required Qualifications
- 3 years Central scheduling experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Coursework/Training: Medical terminology
- Upon hire: CHAA
- Medical setting experience
- Data entry, medical terminology and insurance experience
Pay Range
- $20.92 – $32.00 per hour
- The amounts listed are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
