About the role
Sun River Health is a Federally Qualified, Non-Profit Health Center serving communities in Suffolk, Rockland, Orange, Duchess, Ulster, Sullivan, Columbia and Westchester County. We are seeking a Full-time Senior Patient Representative to support our Amenia, NY site.
Responsibilities
- Reviews daily and monthly statistical reports on patient utilization of services and providers, on collection of fees from self-pay patients, and on no-show rates per provider.
- Reviews bills generated by SRH when patients inquire in person or by telephone. Make adjustments on the bills, if necessary, and sends the information to the Billing Department.
- Answers questions about bills that patients may have.
- Reviews and assigns on a daily basis a staff member the site medical bucket.
- Completes on a daily basis money reconciliation, prepares bank deposit and deposits money at the bank, assigns to their site.
- Template and block provider schedules as directed by Operations Manager/Health Center Director.
- Performs monthly office supplies inventory and places orders/indicates ordering needs to Operations Manager/Health Center Director.
- Distributes materials to patients, including the patient satisfaction cards, patient rights and other appropriate materials.
- Maintains a daily monitoring of the patient representatives' schedule and makes the necessary changes to ensure proper coverage.
- Maintains a daily monitoring of the front desk team's performance and works in conjunction with the Operations Manager/HCD to address performance gaps.
- Schedules appointments, collects fees, explains services and charges for patient services for all service levels.
- Aids in the orientation of new front desk staff members.
- Aids in daily reception activities and ensures that all processes needed for patient services are initiated.
- Communicates professionally and responsively with patients, including (telephone, in-person, health center based, and mail contact with patients).
- Verifies all insurance and sets fees based on the sliding scale fee.
Requirements
- High school diploma/GED
- 2-4 years of relevant work experience
- Bilingual Spanish (preferred)
