About the role

The Senior Patient Care Technician works under the direction of a Registered Nurse. This role involves performing direct patient care tasks such as bathing, assisting with elimination, bed making, and vital signs monitoring. Other responsibilities include transporting patients and patient-related materials, greeting and orienting patients, and providing meal service and feeding assistance.

Responsibilities

  • Performs direct patient care tasks including bathing, assisting with elimination, bed making, and vital signs monitoring.
  • Transports patients and patient-related materials in a safe, timely, and professional manner.
  • Greets and orients patients to the patient care area.
  • Provides meal service and feeding assistance functions.
  • Provides additional select care to patients.
  • Collaborates with other team members to perform other services as directed.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Strong written, verbal, and nonverbal interpersonal and professional communication skills.
  • Demonstrates accountability for own actions.
  • Willingly provides service in a courteous manner.
  • Can prioritize, organize, and multi-task.
  • Able to take direction well, but also be self-directed and motivated.
  • Requires a high degree of responsibility and responsiveness.
  • Must be able to lift.
  • Available for one week of full-time training.
  • Must have three (3) months of clinical experience or a CNA license, or be currently enrolled in Nursing school (PCT, CNA, Patient Care Tech).

Qualifications

  • Exceptional skills and qualifications include the ability to collaborate with others in a team setting and possess excellent communication skills.
  • A positive attitude toward problem-solving is essential.
