About the Opportunity: The Senior Patient Accounts Representative is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely preparation, editing, and submission of insurance claims to various regulatory payers. This role is essential for maintaining billing accuracy and clean claims processing, contributing to the organization''s financial integrity and operational efficiency . 3. Responsibilitie s: Prepare, edit, and submit electronic and manual insurance claims to regulatory payers including Medicare, Medicaid, L&I, VA, Crime Victims, and Healthy OptionsManage primary, secondary, late charge, and corrected claimsReview and resolve billing edits within EPIC and claims scrubber systemsVerify accuracy of claims submitted to payersReconcile claim runs and create electronic claim filesResolve claim editing issues by coordinating with third-party clearinghouses or claims scrubber vendorsIdentify and report recurring billing errors and trends to supervisorsResearch and analyze coding errorsDocument billing issues and trendsAssist in problem-solving and developing solutionsProcess credit balances due to regulatory pay ers 4. Requireme nts: Coursework or training in medical terminology and medical coding from an accredited school, or equivalent on-the-job training in a billing roleMinimum of one year experience in hospital insurance regulatory billing involving Medicare, Medicaid, and/or Labor & Industries (L&I)Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor''s Degree in Finance, Business Management, or Healthcare AdministrationStrong technical background with experience in automated systemsExperience working with Provider One, MECA, FSS0, and/or CWF is pref erred 5.
