Senior Patient Access Representative | Occupational Medicine | PRN

Job Summary

The Senior Patient Access Representative serves as a liaison between patients, families, physicians and medical support staff. Specific duties vary by location and may include:

• Collaborates with multi-disciplinary team to ensure medical services are appropriately scheduled for patients.
• Reviews procedure/surgery orders and schedules necessary resources.
• Manages provider schedules.
• Serves as a liaison between provider and supporting providers.
• Demonstrates medical necessity to insurance companies and obtains required prior authorization.
• Performs registration duties and works the front desk.
• Trains and mentors new employees.
• Acts as an electronic medical record (EMR) super user.
• Displays professionalism and promotes mutual respect and cooperation.
• Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Solves problems and seeks guidance when needed.
• Uses computer skills and multi-line telephone effectively.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; post-secondary education helpful.
• Previous medical office experience preferred.
• Prior electronic medical records (EMR) experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology; customer service skills essential.
• Six months' customer service experience desired.
