Senior Partner Solutions Architect, Business Applications

About the role
We seek a passionate technologist who combines deep technical expertise with business acumen and excellent interpersonal skills to join our team of solutions architects working with business applications software vendors within the AWS Partner Network. This includes partners providing solutions across sales, marketing, operations, human resources, legal, customer experience, and other business functions. Our goal is to help these partners build, go-to-market, and sell solutions leveraging AWS programs and capabilities across cloud and AI services. We need a self-driven individual who thrives on continuous learning and working with the latest technologies to produce results that impact customers.
Responsibilities
- Develop technology strategy and senior-level relationships with business applications partners in the AWS Partner Network.
- Leverage deep expertise in business applications and customer experience to influence senior business leadership at partners.
- Lead substantive architectural discussions to help partners develop joint solutions using AWS cloud and AI expertise.
- Build hands-on prototypes and demonstrations to communicate AWS service functionality.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on business applications, enabling field and technical teams to advise customers on adopting partner solutions running on AWS.
- Work with partners to understand their business and technical needs, developing solutions that optimize AWS AI and cloud capabilities.
- Provide architectural guidance and recommendations for building applications efficiently and reliably on AWS.
- Influence solution providers in developing strategies to present their offerings on AWS.
- Develop technical content such as videos, white papers, and reference architectures to assist customers and partners in deploying cloud-based solutions.
- Capture and share best practices with the broader Solution Architect community.
- Share customer feedback with internal product management and engineering teams to drive AWS cloud improvements.
- Scope each customer engagement with clear, well-defined objectives and success criteria.
- Collaborate with AWS field sales, training, and support teams to ensure partner success.
A day in the life
A typical day might include meeting with technical product managers at AWS or partners, collaborating on building and testing demonstrations and proofs of concept, and creating technical content such as blog posts and papers. It may also involve reading research papers to stay updated on technology changes affecting partners and getting hands-on with AWS daily.
About the team
The team consists of partner solution architects who help AWS’s business applications software partners build products and services on AWS. Each member possesses deep expertise in one or more technical domains relevant to partners. The team innovates on behalf of partners, learns and grows together, and communicates the business impact of technology in public forums.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in specific technology domain areas (e.g., software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics).
- 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting experience in applications and infrastructures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in business development, including complex agreements with integrators and ISVs.
- Experience architecting or operating solutions built on AWS.
- AWS Certification, e.g., AWS Solutions Architect Associate.
- Demonstrated experience developing enterprise application architectures to meet business requirements in complex environments.
- Understanding of security, risk and compliance frameworks, disaster recovery, high availability architectures, hardware, operating systems, and networking connectivity.
- Large-scale systems integration involving on-premises technology and public cloud platforms.
Skills
- Inclination to get hands-on with diverse technologies to deepen understanding and create working concepts.
- Customer-facing skills to represent AWS effectively with partners and customers.
- Ability to drive productive discussions with senior business and technical personnel.
- Broad and deep technical background to bolster credibility when offering guidance to engineers and architects.
- Experience as a thought leader through written publications, video, social media, and speaking engagements at industry conferences.
- Strategic thinking across business, product, and technical domains.
30% travel is required.
Pay
USA, MA, Boston - $153,600.00 - $207,800.00 USD annually.
