Hybrid$38.9–$48.64/hrContract

About the role

Carta is the connected platform and AI-native ecosystem for private capital. Built to replace fragmented tools with a single system of record, Carta brings together the software, services, and legal infrastructure that founders use to manage equity, fund managers use to run administration and reporting, and legal teams use to close transactions. Trusted by 55,000 companies and 1.8M+ equity holders in 160+ countries, and 10,000 funds and SPVs representing $250B+ in assets under management, Carta is transforming how private capital operates. Recognized by Fortune, Forbes, Fast Company, Inc. and Great Places to Work.

The Team You'll Work With

You'll be joining our Contracts team that sits at the intersection of legal expertise and technology — processing investment-related NDAs and transactional documents at a pace traditional law firms can't match. Reporting to a Supervising Attorney in the USA, you'll work alongside Carta's US lawyers and embedded AI agents to deliver high-volume contract work with the speed and consistency that private capital clients demand.

Responsibilities

  • Own the prompt intake and first-round markup of investment-related NDAs and related documents, ensuring nothing sits in a queue longer than it should and tight client turnaround times are consistently met.
  • Support Carta's US lawyers with first-round drafting and ad hoc legal work — handling the volume so attorneys can focus on the complexity.
  • Set up and coordinate client workflows, manage document portals, and drive contracts through to execution, giving clients a seamless, professional experience at every step.
  • Deliver crisp, commercially sound contract support that reflects Carta's reputation for precision — balancing speed with the attention to detail that private capital clients expect.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience recommended working within a transactional or corporate practice group, or an in-house commercial legal team — with hands-on exposure to commercial contracts and investment-related NDA drafting.
  • Fast and precise under pressure — thrive in high-volume, deadline-driven environments; able to context-switch between competing demands without letting quality slip.
  • Commercially and legally grounded — strong grasp of relevant legal concepts and the commercial pragmatism to apply them; know when to flag something and when to just get it done.
  • Clear communicator — written and verbal communication is crisp and concise; clients and colleagues get what they need without having to ask twice.
  • Self‑starter with a builder's mindset — take ownership, spot inefficiencies, and look for ways to improve how the team operates.
  • Familiar with private markets — exposure to private capital, fund structures, or investor onboarding workflows is a strong plus.

Salary

The expected cash compensation (salary + commission if applicable) range for this role is:

  • $80,920 - $101,165 in Hamilton, NJ and Dallas, TX (hourly rate of $38.90 - $48.64)
  • $90,440 - $113,067 in Seattle, WA (hourly rate of $43.48 - $54.36)
  • $76,160 - $95,216 in Sandy, UT (hourly rate of $38.92 - $45.78)

Annualized salary based on estimated 40 hour hours per week before overtime. Final offers may vary based on geography, experience, expertise, and other factors.

Benefits

Carta’s compensation package includes a market competitive salary, equity for all full‑time roles, and exceptional benefits.
