About the role

The Senior Operations Research Analyst will serve as a key member of an Army Product Office responsible for developing and defending cost estimates to support acquisition decision-making. The role involves planning, coordinating, and conducting independent cost analysis for assigned programs, ensuring technical appropriateness, soundness, and accurate interpretation of results.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and conduct independent cost analysis for assigned programs.
  • Calculate and forecast future costs of systems, projects/programs, resources.
  • Create and maintain lifecycle cost estimates in ACE-IT.
  • Develop cost estimating methodologies based on available data sources.
  • Provide expert technical analyses, budgetary advice, and guidance regarding resource allocations and plans.
  • Conduct analysis and provide recommendations using a range of cost analysis strategies including mathematics, statistical analysis, parametric and non-parametric analysis, computer modeling, regression analysis, and economic analysis.
  • Coordinate with the PAE FIRES and PM IFMC Program Office Estimates for APBs and other milestone review documentation.
  • Create documents and briefing charts to communicate program status and forecasts on cost.
  • Analyze Earned Value Management reports and provide recommendations to the Product Manager based on analysis.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, or Operations Research is desired.
  • 10+ years of relevant work experience is desired.
  • History of supporting and engaging executive-level leadership.
  • High understanding of MS Office suite and ACE-IT cost modeling experience is required.
  • Knowledge of US Army acquisition processes and experience working and closing actions/taskers that are briefed to higher headquarters and executive leadership.
  • Highly organized, flexible, and detail-oriented with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Self-motivated, eager to learn new skills, and capable of handling a variety of tasks in a team environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, people skills, and enthusiasm.

Qualifications

  • Active Secret Security Clearance.

Skills

  • Expertise in cost analysis strategies including mathematics, statistical analysis, parametric and non-parametric analysis, computer modeling, regression analysis, and economic analysis.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal guidance.
  • Experience with MS Office suite and ACE-IT cost modeling.
  • Understanding of US Army acquisition processes.
