Senior Operations Research Analyst

About the role

The Senior Operations Research Analyst will support an Army Product Office located in Huntsville, AL. The role involves developing and defending cost estimates to support acquisition decision-making, conducting cost analysis, and coordinating with the Program Office Estimates for APBs and other milestone review documentation.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and conduct independent cost analysis for the assigned program
• Ensure technical appropriateness, soundness, and accurate interpretation of results with regard to cost and budget
• Calculate and forecast future costs of systems, projects/programs, resources
• Create and maintain lifecycle cost estimates in ACE-IT
• Develop cost estimating methodologies based on available data sources
• Provide expert technical analyses, budgetary advice, and guidance regarding the development and implementation of resource allocations and plans
• Conduct analysis and provide recommendations by applying expert knowledge of a broad range of cost analysis strategies
• Coordinate with the PAE FIRES and PM IFMC Program Office Estimates for APBs and other milestone review documentation
• Create documents and briefing charts that communicate current status and forecast on program with regard to cost
• Receive and analyze Earned Value Management reports and make recommendations to Product Manager based on analysis

Requirements

Required Skills/Experience:

• 10+ years of relevant work experience
• History of supporting and engaging executive level leadership
• High understanding of MS Office suite and ACE-IT cost modeling experience
• Knowledge of US Army acquisition processes and experience working and closing actions/taskers that are briefed to higher headquarters and executive leadership
• Highly organized, flexible, attention to detail, and ability to meet suspense’s
• Excellent written and verbal communication’s skills, people skills, and enthusiasm
• Ability to work with minimum guidance in addressing actions and complete products using knowledge, ingenuity, innovation, and experience
• Resident of Huntsville, Alabama or willing to relocate to the Huntsville, Alabama area
• Active DoD Secret clearance required to perform this work

Qualifications

Education Requirements:

• A bachelor's degree (Mathematics, Statistics, or Operations Research is desired)
