The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for 2 full-time Operations Research Analysts (NH-1515-03), located at the United States Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM), War Plans Analysis Branch (J5N91), at Offutt Air Force Base in Bellevue, Nebraska.

Mission & Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and improve the ability of nuclear options to accomplish objectives with the goal of reducing risk to the U.S.
  • Conduct high-fidelity modeling of U.S. and adversary systems to support the President of the U.S. in nuclear decision-making.
  • Serve as the focal point for nuclear and global strike analysis supporting current and future USSTRATCOM Operation Plans (OPLANs)/missions.
  • Measure USSTRATCOM’s ability to meet plan objectives, communicate deficiencies, and provide mitigation recommendations.
  • Provide direct engineering, development, and testing of system models supporting survivability and lethality analysis.

Salary

$107,501.00 – $139,753.00. Relocation incentives may be available based on qualifications.

Key Requirements & Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance
  • This is a mandated drug testing position
  • Knowledge of a broad range of operations research analysis techniques and possession of analytical abilities.
  • Knowledge of quantitative techniques and methods used to develop, adapt, modify, and apply models to resolve problems or define and clarify alternative solutions.
  • Skill to negotiate and/or defend findings and program support concepts.
  • Ability to lead study teams; originate new ideas, projects, and methodologies; and execute projects and/or studies within established financial and/or time constraints.
  • Ability to develop and utilize appropriate data collection techniques and design, build, and use models and simulation techniques.

Degree Requirements: In operations research; or at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus. STEM related degree OR Experience and 24 hours of math (3 of which are Calculus)
