About the role

The Senior Operations Manager (SOM) oversees all operations, ensuring the safe, efficient, and effective movement of inventory through the facility. This includes supervising a team of Operations Supervisors who monitor workflow conditions and adjust resources as needed to meet store demand.

Responsibilities

  • Identifies and resolves safety issues on the floor and escalates to the appropriate parties;
  • Completes safety observations and fosters a safety culture;
  • Determines daily workload (production volume) and monitors inventory movements;
  • Evaluates staffing needs and moves personnel to meet priorities;
  • Communicates business objectives, safety issues, and workload plans;
  • Reports on key performance metrics to upper management;
  • Manages associates' performance and provides development opportunities;
  • Sponsors and leads associates through change.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Transportation, Industrial Engineering, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience;
  • 3+ years of experience in distribution center operations or related areas, or 7+ years of experience in distribution center/warehouse operations with increasing responsibilities if education requirement not met;
  • Leadership experience with direct report responsibility;
  • Mentoring and coaching experience;
  • Experience leading teams through change;
  • Resource and budget management experience;
  • Problem-solving experience;
  • Experience leading corporate-led initiatives or similar roles in other Lowe's supply chain networks;
  • Experience with HR-related issues;
  • Ability to attract and hire talent for the team.
