About the role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Operations Manager with a strong background supporting U.S. Navy or Department of Defense (DoD) programs and managing industrial production facility operations.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the single point of authority and primary representative for the entire contracted effort.
- Provide executive leadership and strategic direction for contract execution and operational performance.
- Maintain overall responsibility for program performance, financial management, and customer satisfaction.
- Lead and oversee cross-functional teams and subordinate managers across multiple operational sites.
- Establish operational policies, procedures, priorities, and performance objectives.
- Manage contractual requirements, schedules, budgets, staffing, and resource allocation.
- Oversee production facility operations, including manufacturing, fabrication, assembly, maintenance, warehouse production, or similar industrial environments.
- Ensure compliance with contract requirements, Government regulations, quality standards, and safety policies.
- Serve as the primary interface with senior Government and military leadership.
- Deliver executive-level briefings covering program status, financial performance, operational metrics, accomplishments, and risks.
- Drive continuous process improvement and operational efficiency initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of experience performing work aligned with the responsibilities of this position.
- Minimum 5 years of engineering, technical management, program management, or operations management experience supporting U.S. Navy or Department of Defense (DoD) programs.
- Minimum 5 years managing an industrial production facility, including one or more of the following: Manufacturing facilities, Fabrication shops, Machine shops, Woodworking facilities, Metalworking facilities, Assembly operations, Industrial production facilities, Warehouse production operations, Maintenance and repair production facilities.
- Demonstrated leadership of personnel performing production, fabrication, assembly, manufacturing, or maintenance activities.
- Experience managing contract performance, staffing, budgets, customer satisfaction, and operational execution.
- Experience managing multiple production teams, work centers, supervisors, or operational departments.
- Experience preparing and delivering executive-level briefings and performance reports.
- Strong knowledge of operational planning, process improvement, and resource management.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing Navy production, depot-level maintenance, fabrication, or industrial operations.
- Experience supporting test range operations, engineering, logistics, or manufacturing support contracts.
- Experience managing Government-owned production facilities.
- Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Continuous Process Improvement (CPI), or similar certifications.
- PMP (Project Management Professional) certification.
- Experience overseeing multi-site production, engineering, and logistics operations.
- Experience with workforce planning, production scheduling, and facility operations management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technical, or Business discipline with 10 years of experience, OR Associate degree with 12 years of experience, OR High School Diploma/GED with 14 years of relevant experience.
