About the Role

The Senior Operations Manager is a leader responsible for fulfillment at the Olive Branch Distribution Center. This individual will organize, staff, evaluate, direct, and motivate operations personnel while developing, implementing, and managing the operations department’s plans, budgets, policies, and procedures. The role establishes goals and objectives for the operations group, including Shipping and Receiving, Warehousing, and Inventory Control, and fosters a culture of excellence to drive positive results.

Responsibilities

  • Staff, organize, and manage resources to support fulfillment objectives.
  • Develop Operation Leaders through training on policies and procedures, problem resolution, and leading by example.
  • Create and implement operations department standard operating procedures (vendor evaluation, vendor review, inventory control, delivery scheduling, document control, vendor and product audits, etc.).
  • Allocate resources appropriately to achieve operations department objectives.
  • Participate in senior management strategic planning processes.
  • Establish metrics to evaluate performance within the distribution department.
  • Oversee and manage the operations department’s budget, pursue cost reduction initiatives, and review expenditures for approval.
  • Qualify and retain external resources as required.
  • Maintain knowledge of current inventory control standards and best practices.
  • Implement cost reduction initiatives as appropriate.
  • Oversee inventory control processes, including cycle counts and replenishment.
  • Review warehouse inventory positions and trends to modify stocking requirements based on customer demand.
  • Serve as the point of contact for the warehouse management system.
  • Assist with logistics carrier pickups.
  • Manage the retail customer portal process.
  • Oversee the inventory cycle count process for accuracy.
  • Implement and maintain lean methodologies.
  • Ensure the total quality of work instructions, processes, and root cause analysis of operations.

Requirements

  • BS or MS degree in Operations Management or another business discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in operations management at a Senior Manager level.
  • Experience developing and implementing operations standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Experience developing operations organization charts, job descriptions, and recruiting, managing, and mentoring operations staff.
  • Experience with freight consolidation operations for both containerized and non-containerized shipping.
  • Experience managing purchasing resources to support a “Lean” or matrix product development organization with multiple concurrent projects.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Proficiency with computers, NetSuite systems, Work Management System, and Microsoft Office.

  • Excellent work ethic, business ethics, and adherence to high-quality standards.
  • Passion for the audio/video industry and its unique challenges.
  • Documented history of improving business and operations practices as a change agent.
  • Above-average critical thinking, logic, and reasoning abilities.
  • Positive attitude, self-motivation, and eagerness to succeed.

Physical Requirements

  • Regularly required to stand and walk.
  • Must exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects.
  • Able to work with deadlines and under pressure.

Working Conditions

The role operates in office, laboratory, and warehouse settings, primarily in an open office environment with reasonable lighting and controlled temperatures.

Pay

$92,000 to $115,000 per year, depending on experience.

Schedule

Monday – Friday, onsite in Olive Branch, MS.
