About the role
The Senior Manager of Fulfillment Center Operations plays a pivotal role in ShipMonk's mission to empower high-growth ecommerce and DTC brands to stress less and grow more. Reporting to the Director of Operations, this position oversees the efficient and effective operation of multiple fulfillment centers.
Responsibilities
- Establishes and maintains operational procedures for incoming and outgoing shipments, material handling, and inventory management
- Ensures the physical condition of the warehouse and equipment is maintained
- Submits work orders for repairs and equipment replacements as needed
- Coordinates with other functional areas to ensure seamless warehouse operations
- Maintains a safe and compliant warehouse environment, adhering to company standards for sanitation, maintenance, security, and housekeeping
- Manages the budget and profit-and-loss statement (P&L) of the operation
- Maintains operational excellence in all warehouse areas, equipment, and systems
- Partners with others to optimize warehouse layout and product placement
- Maintains key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure profitability and productivity
- Oversees the interviewing, hiring, and training of supervisory and hourly staff
- Resolves complaints and addresses issues as they arise
- Safeguards warehouse sanitation and identifies and corrects sanitation failures
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year college or university or equivalent experience in Supply Chain Operations, Fulfillment Center Operations, or Distribution Center Operations
- A minimum of 6 to 8 years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and training
- Experience with warehouse management systems
- Experience with labor management systems and productivity initiatives
- Absolutely required to have Lean Six Sigma certification
- Proficiency with enterprise technology systems such as Advanced Excel, Outlook/Gmail, Project Management Software, and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
- Ability to effectively communicate and respond to questions from various stakeholders
- Experience leading teams of 40+ employees, building layers of leadership, and extensive experience with performance management
