Senior Operations Engineer

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide technical support for space acquisitions, engineering, operations, and program management at any stage of the acquisition lifecycle.
• Support program acquisition efforts for advanced technology, future concept development, and system integration.
• Advisory on cost, schedule, and performance to assist government decision-making.
• Draft and revise acquisition documentation, including JCIDS documents, Acquisition Strategies, Concept of Operations, Technical/System Requirements, and other program-related materials, ensuring compliance with government standards (e.g., MIL-STD).
• Prepare technical and programmatic reports on individual programs or the overall portfolio in coordination with government program managers.
• Identify and recommend improvements in acquisition processes, risk management, and efficiency, providing actionable recommendations for technical, organizational, and programmatic enhancements.
• Maintain awareness of technology development efforts across the portfolio.
• Provide technical insight for mission protection, operations, and data assessments.
• Recommend solutions for technical anomalies and support impact analysis, audits, compliance inspections, and readiness reviews.
• Support ongoing and new Command and Control (C2) efforts, ensuring integration with classified portfolios and liaison between Space C2, Enterprise Ground Services (EGS), and SSC/SZ-BC classified program offices.
• Aid in testing and operations, including Developmental and Operational Testing, system-level test integration, and test documentation.
• Offer engineering support for operational mission planning, mission protection, and anomaly resolution.
• Assist with data and signal collection, processing, storage, analysis, and reporting for testing, ongoing operations, and future developments.
• Support post-mission analysis and reporting.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Expert in space control mission area
• Expert in highly classified space control space, ground, and C2 systems (concepts, development, build, and test)
• Knowledge and experience
• At least 10 years’ experience in this type of position or program is required.
• Bachelor’s degree required.
