About the role

The Senior Oncology Specialist plays a crucial role as the primary liaison between Amgen and medical professionals. This role involves providing comprehensive clinical knowledge of Amgen's products and communicating their clinical and economic benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Create and execute a comprehensive territory plan, including delivering branded sales messages, executing planned programs, scheduling and following-up with medical educational programs, and achieving or exceeding sales targets.
  • Utilize internal and external relationships to service and manage accounts, ensuring product access, resolving/retrieving reimbursement issues, and maintaining product contracts.
  • Craft an effective marketing strategy to drive sales.
  • Analyze business effectiveness of sales activities and territory analysis, and develop territory plans with your District Manager.
  • Possess the passion for Amgen's products throughout the sales cycle, building the brand and focusing on patient care.
  • Partner with other colleagues to share best practices and continuously learn to grow as a Sr. Oncology Specialist.
  • Leverage your passion for Oncology and disease state awareness, industry, regulatory, and competitive changes to deliver agreed results.

Requirements

Minimum Education Required: Bachelors

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in healthcare / scientific field that is not sales related OR
  • Associate degree and 6 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in healthcare / scientific field that is not sales related OR
  • High school diploma / GED and 8 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in healthcare / scientific field that is not sales related

Preferred Qualifications

  • Three or more years of sales and/or marketing experience within pharmaceutical, biotech, healthcare, or medical device industries.
  • Product or hospital sales experience in the areas of oncology, nephrology, dermatology, rheumatology and inflammation.
  • Neurology, endocrinology, hepatology, gastroenterology, or infectious diseases, and the diseases and treatments involved with these specialties.
  • Local Market knowledge.
