About the role

As a Senior Oncology Specialist at Amgen, you will act as the primary customer contact, providing clinical knowledge of Amgen's products to medical professionals. You will deliver the clinical and economic benefits of the products, serving as a liaison to customers in the oncology field. Amgen's mission is to serve patients living with serious illnesses, and this role is pivotal in advancing treatments for some of the toughest cancers.

Responsibilities

  • Create and execute a comprehensive territory plan, including delivering branded sales messages, executing planned programs, scheduling and following up with medical educational programs, and achieving or exceeding sales targets.
  • Utilize internal and external relationships to service and manage accounts, ensuring product access, resolving/triaging reimbursement issues, and maintaining product contracts.
  • Craft effective marketing strategies to drive sales.
  • Analyze business effectiveness of sales activities and territory performance, and develop territory plans with your District Manager.
  • Sustain passion for Amgen’s products throughout the sales cycle while building the brand and keeping the focus on serving patients.
  • Partner with colleagues to share best practices and maintain continuous learning to grow as a Senior Oncology Specialist.
  • Leverage your passion for oncology, disease state awareness, and knowledge of industry, regulatory, and competitive changes to deliver results.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in a healthcare/scientific field that is not sales related, OR
  • Associate degree and 6 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in a healthcare/scientific field that is not sales related, OR
  • High school diploma/GED and 8 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in a healthcare/scientific field that is not sales related.

Qualifications

  • Preferred experience in Oncology.
  • Three or more years of sales and/or marketing experience within pharmaceutical, biotech, healthcare, or medical device industries.
  • Product or hospital sales experience in oncology, nephrology, dermatology, rheumatology, inflammation, neurology, endocrinology, hepatology, gastroenterology, or infectious diseases, including knowledge of diseases and treatments in these specialties.
  • Local market knowledge.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences or Business Administration.

Pay

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is $140,465 to $190,041. Actual salary will vary based on relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
