About the role

Since 1980, Amgen has pioneered biotechnology in the fight against tough diseases, focusing on oncology, inflammation, general medicine, and rare diseases. As a Senior Oncology Specialist, you will act as the primary customer contact, providing clinical knowledge of Amgen’s products to medical professionals. Amgen’s supportive care treatments help patients combat chemotherapy side effects, while our targeted medicines and immunotherapies address over a dozen malignancies, including blood cancers and solid tumors.
Responsibilities
- Create and execute a comprehensive territory plan, delivering branded sales messages, executing programs, and achieving sales targets.
- Serve and manage accounts by ensuring product access, resolving reimbursement issues, and maintaining product contracts.
- Develop and implement effective marketing strategies to drive sales.
- Analyze business effectiveness, conduct territory analysis, and collaborate with your District Manager on territory plans.
- Sustain passion for Amgen’s products throughout the sales cycle while building the brand and prioritizing patient service.
- Partner with colleagues to share best practices and maintain continuous learning to grow as a Senior Oncology Specialist.
- Leverage your passion for oncology, disease state awareness, and industry knowledge to deliver results amid regulatory and competitive changes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in a healthcare/scientific field (non-sales), or
- Associate degree and 6 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in a healthcare/scientific field (non-sales), or
- High school diploma/GED and 8 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in a healthcare/scientific field (non-sales).
Qualifications
- Preferred experience in oncology.
- Three or more years of sales and/or marketing experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, healthcare, or medical device industries.
- Product or hospital sales experience in oncology, nephrology, dermatology, rheumatology, inflammation, neurology, endocrinology, hepatology, gastroenterology, or infectious diseases.
- Local market knowledge.
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or Business Administration (preferred).
- Adaptability in core competencies: planning and organizing, leveraging business/industry/technical knowledge, communicating with impact, driving for results, and cultivating internal/external relationships.

Pay
The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is $140,465 to $190,041. Actual salary will vary based on relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
