About the Role

Join Amgen’s mission of serving patients. As a Senior Oncology Specialist, you will be the primary customer contact, providing clinical knowledge of Amgen’s products to medical professionals. Amgen’s medicines treat serious illnesses, and our research addresses diseases with limited treatment options. This role covers the Las Vegas, NV territory, and relocation is not offered.

Amgen Oncology is committed to helping patients take on some of the toughest cancers, including those resistant to drugs, rapidly progressing cancers, and those with limited treatment options. Our supportive care treatments help patients combat chemotherapy side effects, while our targeted medicines and immunotherapies focus on over a dozen malignancies, from blood cancers to solid tumors.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary customer contact to provide clinical knowledge of Amgen’s products and communicate their clinical and economic benefits to medical professionals.
  • Create and execute a comprehensive territory plan, including delivering branded sales messages, executing planned programs, scheduling and following up on medical educational programs, and achieving or exceeding sales targets.
  • Utilize internal and external relationships to service and manage accounts, ensuring product access, resolving reimbursement issues, and maintaining product contracts.
  • Craft effective marketing strategies to drive sales.
  • Analyze business effectiveness of sales activities and territory performance, and develop territory plans with your District Manager.
  • Sustain passion for Amgen’s products throughout the sales cycle while building the brand and keeping patient service at the forefront.
  • Partner with colleagues to share best practices and maintain continuous learning to grow as a Senior Oncology Specialist.
  • Leverage your passion for oncology, disease state awareness, and industry knowledge to deliver agreed-upon results.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in a healthcare/scientific field (non-sales), or
  • Associate degree and 6 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in a healthcare/scientific field (non-sales), or
  • High school diploma/GED and 8 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in a healthcare/scientific field (non-sales).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Oncology and/or Hematology.
  • Three or more years of sales and/or marketing experience within pharmaceutical, biotech, healthcare, or medical device industries.
  • Product or hospital sales experience in oncology, nephrology, dermatology, rheumatology, inflammation, neurology, endocrinology, hepatology, gastroenterology, or infectious diseases.
  • Local market knowledge.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or Business Administration.

Pay

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is $140,465 to $190,041. Actual salary will vary based on relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
