As a Senior Oncology Specialist, you will act as the primary customer contact, providing clinical knowledge of Amgen’s products to medical professionals. Amgen’s supportive care treatments help patients combat chemotherapy side effects, while our targeted medicines and immunotherapies address over a dozen malignancies, from blood cancers to solid tumors.

Responsibilities
- Act as the primary customer contact, delivering current and comprehensive clinical knowledge of Amgen’s products and communicating their clinical and economic benefits to medical professionals.
- Create and execute a comprehensive territory plan, including delivering branded sales messages, executing planned programs, scheduling and following up on medical educational programs, and achieving or exceeding sales targets.
- Utilize internal and external relationships to service and manage accounts, ensuring product access, resolving reimbursement issues, and maintaining product contracts.
- Craft effective marketing strategies to drive sales.
- Analyze business effectiveness of sales activities and territory performance, and develop territory plans with your District Manager.
- Sustain passion for Amgen’s products throughout the sales cycle while building the brand and keeping patient service at the forefront.
- Partner with colleagues to share best practices and maintain continuous learning to support professional growth.
- Leverage your passion for oncology, disease state awareness, and industry knowledge—including regulatory and competitive changes—to deliver agreed results.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in a healthcare/scientific field (non-sales related), or
- Associate degree and 6 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in a healthcare/scientific field (non-sales related), or
- High school diploma/GED and 8 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in a healthcare/scientific field (non-sales related).
Qualifications
- Preferred experience in oncology and/or hematology.
- Three or more years of sales and/or marketing experience within pharmaceutical, biotech, healthcare, or medical device industries.
- Product or hospital sales experience in oncology, nephrology, dermatology, rheumatology, inflammation, neurology, endocrinology, hepatology, gastroenterology, or infectious diseases, including knowledge of diseases and treatments in these specialties.
- Local market knowledge.
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or Business Administration (preferred).
- Adaptability with Amgen’s core competencies: planning and organizing, leveraging business/industry/technical knowledge, communicating with impact, driving for results, and cultivating internal and external relationships.
Pay
The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is $140,465 to $190,041. Actual salary will vary based on relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
