As a Senior Oncology Specialist, you will act as the primary customer contact, providing clinical knowledge of Amgen’s products and effectively communicating their clinical and economic benefits to medical professionals. Amgen Oncology is committed to helping patients take on some of the toughest cancers, including those resistant to drugs, those that progress rapidly, and those with limited treatment options. Our supportive care treatments help patients combat side effects of strong chemotherapy, and our targeted medicines and immunotherapies focus on more than a dozen different malignancies, ranging from blood cancers to solid tumors.

Responsibilities

  • Create and execute a comprehensive territory plan, including delivering branded sales messages, executing planned programs, scheduling and following up with medical educational programs, and achieving or exceeding sales targets.
  • Utilize internal and external relationships to service and manage accounts, ensuring product access, resolving/triaging reimbursement issues, and maintaining product contracts.
  • Craft an effective marketing strategy to drive sales.
  • Analyze business effectiveness of sales activities and territory performance, and develop territory plans with your District Manager.
  • Sustain passion for Amgen’s products throughout the sales cycle while building the brand and keeping the focus on serving patients.
  • Partner with colleagues to share best practices and maintain continuous learning to grow as a Senior Oncology Specialist.
  • Leverage your passion for Oncology, disease state awareness, and industry/regulatory/competitive changes to deliver agreed results.

Requirements

The ideal candidate is a go-getter with one of the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in a healthcare/scientific field that is not sales-related.
  • Associate degree and 6 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in a healthcare/scientific field that is not sales-related.
  • High school diploma/GED and 8 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in a healthcare/scientific field that is not sales-related.

Qualifications

  • Preferred experience in Oncology.
  • Three or more years of sales and/or marketing experience within pharmaceutical, biotech, healthcare, or medical device industries.
  • Product or hospital sales experience in oncology, nephrology, dermatology, rheumatology, inflammation, neurology, endocrinology, hepatology, gastroenterology, or infectious diseases, including knowledge of diseases and treatments in these specialties.
  • Local market knowledge.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences or Business Administration.
  • Adaptability with Amgen’s Core Competencies: Planning and Organizing; Leveraging Business, Industry, and Technical Knowledge; Communicating with Impact; Driving for Results; and Cultivating Internal and External Relationships.

Pay

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is $140,465 to $190,041. Actual salary will vary based on relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
