Senior On-Air Talent
Key Responsibilities
- Anchor afternoon and evening newscasts, including presenting, researching, writing and editing stories relevant to mid-Missouri audiences
- Produce original stories for television, digital and social platforms
- Mentor and supervise student producers, reporters, and production assistants assigned to the newscast
- Develop, research, and report a recurring franchise that can be cross-promoted and shared across multiple newscasts
- Maintain an active, authentic social media presence that engages audiences and follows industry best practices
- Represent KOMU 8 News in the community through appearances, speaking engagements and other outreach opportunities
- Perform other newsroom duties as assigned
- Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary
- 2 to 5 years of experience with news anchoring and reporting
- Experience with Investigative Storytelling
- Strong social media presence and engagement
- Ability to shoot and edit stories on their own

Monday through Friday, 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., with some evenings and weekends.
Anticipated Hiring Range
Hiring Salary Range: $50,000 - $80,000
