About the role

Aurora is searching for a Senior NPI Test Engineer to support manufacturing from a test and automation perspective in the production of Aurora’s hardware, delivering the benefits of self-driving technology safely, quickly, and broadly.

A successful candidate is data-driven, excels at complex problem solving, has a strong engineering background with software and hardware skills, a product-focused mindset, and can lead cross-functional efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Support and debug software tools used in manufacturing tests and provisioning.
  • Closely collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams to harden and optimize automated manufacturing test procedures.
  • Data management and analysis to track production test performance metrics, prioritize top issues, and drive continuous improvement activities with cross-functional teams.
  • Provide technical test support to all local manufacturing areas, locations, and customers as needed.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in data collection with electronic test equipment and data-acquisition systems.
  • Prior verification, validation, and testing experience with emphasis on debugging skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication of test status and results, including writing formal test reports/records.
  • Experience in manufacturing test development and sustaining efforts at scale.
  • Ability to read design drawings/wiring schematics.
  • Excellent analytical abilities, technical writing ability, and a comprehensive understanding of problem-solving.
  • Experience programming in Python is required.
  • Experience with Linux operating systems.
  • Experience with Google Suite, JIRA, JAMA, and GIT.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
  • International travel to CM for on-site bring-up and support.

Qualifications

  • M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering (with mechatronics experience), a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with data aggregation.
  • Familiarity with FMCW LiDAR and/or RF transceivers.
  • Experience with optical system prototyping and characterization.
  • Experience in modern automotive electronics and diagnostic procedures.

Pay

The base salary range for this position is $135,000 - $216,000 per year. Aurora’s pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions. The successful candidate will also be eligible for an annual bonus, equity compensation, and benefits.

Schedule

Aurora operates in a hybrid work environment where employees are in the office at least 3 days per week.
