Fluid Management Senior NPI Engineer (L3) in Chaska/Bloomington, driving new products into manufacturing through close collaboration with product development and manufacturing engineering teams.
Responsibilities
- Transfer new products from R&D and/or New Product Development Engineering (NPD/PDE) into manufacturing, focusing on electromechanical devices & instrumentation, fluid handling, and packaging.
- Create and update control plans and FMEAs.
- Design, create, and execute Validation and Qualification (V&Q) protocols, including statistical analysis, and establish standards for V&Q protocols within FM NPI.
- Develop Manufacturing Plans, including site selection, material planning, chemical/waste management, ramp/capacity planning, and cost roadmaps.
- Support new equipment and fixturing via design input and commissioning ownership.
- Optimize processes during scale-up to improve cycle time and yield.
- Set up systems for new product production, including Bills of Material, Routings, and Costing in SAP, SPC (CamLine), and Testing (LIMS).
- Create manufacturing documentation, such as work instructions and process records.
- Train operations personnel on new processes, products, and equipment.
- Mentor less experienced NPI engineers and personnel.
- Use the Accolade project management tool to track project progress and ensure deliverables are completed and uploaded in each phase.
- Collaborate with development and manufacturing teams to define robust product and process designs, ensuring smooth transitions to manufacturing.
- Engage with the Production cell team to ensure Manufacturing Readiness of the new product portfolio, providing input to prioritize and right-size projects.
- Support continuous improvement and task force efforts, including participation in Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) initiatives.

Success Metrics
- Successful and on-time transfer of products to manufacturing compared to Accolade Gate Dates and IRDs.
- Revenue generated from newly transferred products.
- No unplanned events or excursions for new products in manufacturing after transfer.
