About the role

Four contract Network Technicians are needed to support the network infrastructure conversion of a recently acquired Clarksville hospital. The project involves migrating the facility from the legacy CHS network environment to the client's enterprise network infrastructure as part of a broader hospital systems integration initiative. This is a short-term, high-visibility project with a critical "big bang" network cutover scheduled for October 2-3.

The consultants will work alongside the Network Services team to deploy Cisco switching infrastructure, assist with network migration activities, support cutover execution, and provide post-migration troubleshooting. Approximately 120 Cisco switches are being deployed as part of the conversion effort.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and resolve network connectivity issues, verify physical connections, identify port/VLAN mismatches, and support users during a large-scale network migration.
  • Install, configure, and validate approximately 120 Cisco switches being deployed throughout the hospital.
  • Migrate connections from legacy infrastructure to the new network, applying knowledge of VLANs, port assignments, and network segmentation.
  • Rack and stack equipment, install network hardware, trace and move cabling, and work in data closets to physically migrate network connections.
  • Support switch installations prior to cutover and assist with overnight cutover activities.
  • Provide post-migration troubleshooting and work closely with network engineers and hospital staff.

Requirements

  • 2-3+ years of hands-on network support experience preferred; candidates with less experience may be considered if they demonstrate strong networking fundamentals and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Experience working with Cisco switches, including reading switchport configurations, verifying connectivity, and supporting switch deployments.
  • Understanding of VLANs, port assignments, network segmentation, and general networking concepts.
  • Experience racking and stacking equipment, installing network hardware, and working in data closets.
  • Strong troubleshooting mindset, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure during critical cutover activities.
  • Professional communication and team collaboration skills; ability to work closely with network engineers and hospital staff.

Qualifications

  • CompTIA Network+ certification preferred; CCNA is a plus but not required.
  • Basic understanding of wireless networking concepts and access point connectivity preferred.
  • Experience supporting network deployments, site migrations, infrastructure refreshes, or large-scale technology rollouts is highly desirable.
  • Prior experience working with Cisco Catalyst switching environments is preferred.
  • Healthcare experience is a plus but not required.
  • Bachelor's degree is not required.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $31.00/hr. Individual compensation offered within this range will depend on qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
