Senior Network Engineer
About the role
As a Senior Network Engineer, you will provide technical support for all aspects of connectivity within the enterprise data and wireless communication networks. This will include network systems installation/maintenance, problem resolution, network documentation, client support, and network performance monitoring. You will work with Information Technology (IT) teams that span across multiple business functions and geographic locations.
Responsibilities
- Ability to implement, administer, and troubleshoot network infrastructure devices such as wireless access points, routers, and switches.
- Monitor the operation of the network related systems to ensure proper functioning of WAN circuits, hardware, and software.
- Resolution of Level1-2 network related incidents and/or escalation to Level3 support.
- Maintain technical specifications and documents, drawings, system documentation and operating procedures.
- Work with clients, vendors and carriers during problem analysis/resolution as required.
- Installation and maintenance of network related monitoring and administrative systems.
- Respond to client inquiries and issues, escalating as needed.
- Network capacity planning and performance monitoring.
- Change and incident management.
Requirements
- BA/BS Degree, or Technical Degree (preferred)
- 6+ years’ experience in installation and maintenance of complex networks, CCNA or CWNA highly preferred/desired.
- CompTIA, A+, Network Certificates a plus
- Demonstrate excellent knowledge of LAN/WAN, Wireless, TCP/IP protocols and network technologies.
- Have a working knowledge of overlay technologies including but not limited to ACI, MPLS, SDWAN, SDN.
- Demonstrate working knowledge of network routing protocols and technologies including but not limited to BGP, OSPF, RIP, Route Maps, Route Redistribution, IPSec/VPN.
- Understand and utilize Tooling, Monitoring, and Automation platforms such as but not limited to PRTG, NetScout, NetBrain.
- Nice to have experience with network design and troubleshooting in Azure.
- Knowledge of network security best practices.
- Show strong diagnostic, problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Show proven ability to troubleshoot and support technical issues both remotely and on-site using standard network tools and techniques.
- Show hands-on experience in the use of protocol analysis tools for data packet inspection.
- Show ability to be both a Team Technical SME lead and team member of other SME.
- Show strong self-prioritization ability.
- Show good documentation and presentation skills.
- Show good oral and written communication skills.
Qualifications

Pay
Jersey City: $130,000-$165,000 base salary + annual performance bonus
