About the role

The Senior Network Engineer supports the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA IOEE/IOSEE) program in Springfield, VA. This is a hybrid position, requiring weekly visits to the GDIT office or as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Support network engineering design and implementation of technology refreshes.
  • Develop requirements from inception to conclusion, working under general supervision.
  • Manage assigned projects and tasks, providing regular status updates to contract leadership and the customer.
  • Coordinate with the government customer to create a Technology Assessment Plan (TAP).
  • Prepare After Action Reports (AAR) documenting the approach, results, recommendations, and rationale.
  • Identify new and emerging network capabilities and develop product evaluation and selection criteria.
  • Develop system evaluation methods and procedures.
  • Produce formal documentation for executive briefings.
  • Ensure interoperability between DLA WAN and DISN network equipment and services.
  • Plan and track implementation tasks.
  • Create necessary supporting configuration artifacts such as network maps, detailed designs, test plans, operations readiness test reports, device configurations, and maintenance processes and procedures.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 5+ years of related experience.
  • Certifications: Current IAT Level III, CCNP-E, and CCSA certifications required.
  • Network engineering experience in unclassified and classified environments.
  • Familiarity with standard LAN/WAN protocols, BGP, MPLS, and LDP in a service provider environment.
  • Experience with network design, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with device configuration (multi-vendor environment).
  • Experience with wired, wireless, voice, and video technologies.
  • Ability to manage multiple assigned projects and report status and implementation plans.

Qualifications

  • Security clearance level: Active Secret with favorable Tier 5 investigation.
  • US Citizenship Required.
