Senior Network Architect-SME LAN/WAN, and DW/DM

Responsibilities

• Cook up with the Section Manager to evaluate, design, and test architecture designs and services from the roadmap backlog
• Take charge of the transition of user accepted designs and services to the Operations and Security Teams
• Be the go-to guy for Service Provider backbone
• Be the go-to gal for Enterprise-level LAN/WAN
• Be the go-to person for Enterprise-level DWDM (Dense Wave Division Multiplexing)
• Strategically plan, architect, design, engineer, develop, test, implement, modernize, and enhance the functional capabilities, capacity, and performance of the NIH Network and TIC Services
• Team up with the Security Section to nail down security architecture requirements
• Keep technical architecture documentation updated
• Handle troubleshooting and problem resolution
• Support resources responsible for security implementation, monitoring, maintenance, and vulnerability remediation
• Conduct strategic and transformative planning for network architecture services

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 12+ years of experience (or commensurate experience)
• CCIE Certification: Written and practical within each of the Cisco Certifications, the following specializations are needed and listed in order of importance: Routing and Switching, Service Provider, Data Center and Wireless
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
