Responsibilities
- Cook up with the Section Manager to evaluate, design, and test architecture designs and services from the roadmap backlog
- Take charge of the transition of user accepted designs and services to the Operations and Security Teams
- Be the go-to guy for Service Provider backbone
- Be the go-to gal for Enterprise-level LAN/WAN
- Be the go-to person for Enterprise-level DWDM (Dense Wave Division Multiplexing)
- Strategically plan, architect, design, engineer, develop, test, implement, modernize, and enhance the functional capabilities, capacity, and performance of the NIH Network and TIC Services
- Team up with the Security Section to nail down security architecture requirements
- Keep technical architecture documentation updated
- Handle troubleshooting and problem resolution
- Support resources responsible for security implementation, monitoring, maintenance, and vulnerability remediation
- Conduct strategic and transformative planning for network architecture services
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with 12+ years of experience (or commensurate experience)
- CCIE Certification: Written and practical within each of the Cisco Certifications, the following specializations are needed and listed in order of importance: Routing and Switching, Service Provider, Data Center and Wireless
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
