Senior Network Architect/SME in Service Provider Backbone, Enterprise Level LAN/WAN, QoS and Traffic Engineering

Responsibilities

  • Cook up with the Section Manager to appraise, design, and test architecture designs and services from the roadmap backlog
  • Take charge of the transition of user approved designs and services to the Operations and Security Teams
  • Provide subject matter expertise in Service Provider backbone
  • Provide subject matter expertise in Enterprise-level LAN/WAN
  • Provide subject matter expertise in Enterprise-level Quality of Service (QoS)
  • Provide subject matter expertise in Enterprise-level Traffic Engineering
  • Strategically plan, architect, design, engineer, develop, test, implement, modernize, and enhance the functional capabilities, capacity, and performance of the NIH Network and TIC Services in alignment with NIH future state architecture objectives
  • Collaborate with the Security Section to meet security architecture requirements
  • Maintain technical architecture documentation
  • Tackle troubleshooting and problem resolution
  • Support resources responsible for security implementation, monitoring, maintenance, and vulnerability remediation
  • Conduct strategic and transformative planning for network architecture services

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's with 12+ years (or commensurate experience)
  • CCIE Certification: Written and practical within each of the Cisco Certifications, the following specializations are needed and listed in order of importance: Routing and Switching, Service Provider, Data Center and Wireless
  • Clearance Required: Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance

  • Posted Salary Range: USD $108,310.00 - USD $149,027.00 /Yr.
