Responsibilities

Lead the conceptualization, design, implementation, and optimization of enterprise-scale network solutions across multi-site RDT&E environments.

Architect, implement, and manage Commercial Solutions for Classified (CSfC) capability packages to enable secure multi-site connectivity and remote access across classified domains.

Modernize and maintain complex data transmission pathways, long-haul communications, WAN/LAN topologies, and high-throughput routing protocols tailored for test and evaluation data transport.

Serve as a senior technical authority for a NAWCAD customer, providing guidance on emerging networking technologies, cloud integrations, and framework alignment.

Ensure network designs comply with DoD STIGs, Risk Management Framework (RMF), NSA guidelines, and DISA connection standards.

Lead complex tier-3/4 escalation support, root-cause analyses, and network performance tuning across geographically dispersed RDT&E nodes.

Travel 10% to other sites, as required

Requirements

  • 15+ years of direct experience in a network architecture or design role supporting DoD RDT&E Enterprise networks or equivalent defense laboratories.
  • Demonstrated expertise in multi-site network connectivity, WAN routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, MPLS), enterprise VPNs, and complex data transport architectures.
  • Experience designing, deploying, or maintaining CSfC (Commercial Solutions for Classified) architecture and outer/inner tunnel encryption solutions.
  • Direct experience working within or closely supporting the NAWCAD and its underlying RDT&E network infrastructure.
  • Must be able to survive and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline; Master's degree in a related discipline preferred.
  • Desired: 5+ additional years of executive-level technical leadership experience leading cross-functional engineering teams and defining technology roadmaps within complex environments.
  • Familiarization with NAWCAD flight test ranges, laboratory environments, and specialized sensor data streams.
  • Hands-on experience with Software-Defined Networking (SDN), SD-WAN, and zero-trust network architecture (ZTNA) implementations within a DoD environment.
  • Strong familiarity with DISA Cloud Access Points (CAP) and modern hybrid-cloud network integrations (AWS/Azure).
  • IAT Level III certification (e.g., CASP+ CE, CISSP, CCNP Security, or CISA) in accordance with DoD 8570.01-M / DoD 8140.
  • Vendor Certification (e.g., Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP - Enterprise or Security) or equivalent).

Pay

The projected compensation range for this position is $180,000 - $220,000 per year.

Schedule

This position currently requires a hybrid schedule with 1-2 days on-site and is eligible for Compressed Work Schedule (CWS).
