Senior MRI Technologist - Magnetic Resonance Imaging

About the role

The Senior MRI Technologist position is per diem and works 10-hour variable shifts within the Magnetic Resonance Imaging Unit at St Jude Medical Center.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) examinations using proper MRI safety practices.
• Perform MRI procedures for patients of any age group for diagnostic purposes according to department, hospital, and regulatory agency standards.
• Aid Radiologists and referring physicians in performing MRI procedures.
• Work closely with radiologists, other modalities, inpatient and outpatient MRI departments, and serve as a liaison to scheduling and referring physician offices.

Requirements

• Associate’s Degree and/or equivalent education/experience in Radiologic Technology and/or Magnetic Resonance Imaging.
• Maintain required continuing education hours necessary to renew license/certification.
• National Registered Technologist - Magnetic Resonance Imaging or National Certified MRI Technologist - American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists.
• National Provider BLS - American Heart Association.
• 3 years' experience as MRI Technologist.

Qualifications

• 5 years hospital clinical experience at the level of an expert user.
• 1 year CT experience.

Skills

• Expertise in MRI procedures.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills.
• Knowledge of regulatory standards and safety practices.
