Job Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on complex injection molding tools, ensuring optimal functionality and production uptime.
- Identify and troubleshoot mold issues, promptly implementing solutions to minimize production disruptions.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all mold maintenance and repair activities, including dates, procedures used, and materials consumed.
- Train and mentor junior mold makers, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
Requirements
- High School Education or GED
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience as a mold maker.
- Plastics/Molding experience.
- Experience in the tool and die industry, preferably with precise, high-quality, injection molds.
- Experience with CNC machining and programming.
- Qualified as a Journeyman Mold Maker.
- Experience with fitting and benching of molds.
Qualifications
- Strong math skills.
- Ability to stand for long hours (8-10 hours daily).
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Good judgment.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and/or CAD files.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
- Strong understanding of mold design principles, engineering tolerances, and material properties.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
- Excellent attendance is mandatory with ability to work up to 20 hours/week overtime.
- A self-starter, motivated, and able to work in a team environment.
- A positive can-do attitude with willingness to learn.
- Working knowledge of mold construction.
- Own tools.
- Neat and orderly work habits.
