Senior Millwork Engineer

Location: Arcata, CA | Full-time position | Reporting to the Engineering Manager

About the role

A Senior Millwork Engineer’s primary responsibility is to interpret architectural plans and produce CAD drawings and Bills of Material (BOMs) for production and purchasing teams. This role requires demonstrated proficiency with available tools and a clear understanding of Crestmark standards. The Senior Millwork Engineer leads large, complex projects and may guide other team members.

Schedule

Typically 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Occasional evenings, weekends, or travel to vendors, customers, trade shows, or installation sites may be required.

Responsibilities

• Learn and communicate production objectives, project requirements, and assignments.
• Monitor and report issues or obstacles to management.
• Interpret architectural plans and project specifications while applying relevant codes and standards.
• Produce CAD drawings for production, including CNC-ready outputs for all components.
• Create Bills of Material (BOMs) for all projects and components for purchasing and costing.
• Develop an in-depth understanding of assigned projects and provide guidance to co-workers.
• Collaborate with customers, architects, project teams, and sub-contractors to define quality standards.
• Ensure production clarity and resolve engineering issues with project teams.
• Provide clear instructions for installation teams.
• Assist in the development and continuous improvement of the company quality system.

Requirements

• High school diploma (required).
• AA degree or higher (preferred).
• 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or fabrication workplace.
• Demonstrated CAD and drafting experience with understanding of drawing standards.
• Working knowledge of Microvellum, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Fusion software (preferred).
• Knowledge of quality methodologies and frameworks (desired).
