Senior Military Analyst – Aviation Mission Command & Operational Integration
Position Summary
Serves as the team’s principal Aviation operator and translates Aviation formation missions, command-and-control workflows, and operational employment into capability requirements, concepts, and modernization recommendations.
Principal Duties
- Analyze how Aviation formations command, control, plan, and execute operations in Large Scale Combat Operations and Multi-Domain Operations.
- Translate operational tasks, conditions, standards, mission threads, and command-post workflows into CONOPS, capability gaps, requirements, and DOTMLPF-P recommendations.
- Assess the operational integration of manned and unmanned aircraft, aviation command posts, ground formations, sensors, mission systems, and Joint partners.
- Support development and review of JCIDS products, CBAs, CNAs, ICDs, CDDs, concepts, studies, and senior-leader decision products.
- Facilitate operational working groups, Warfighter engagements, experimentation events, and coordination with capability and materiel developers.
- Prepare analytical briefings, information and decision papers, executive summaries, meeting products, and trip reports.
Position-Specific Qualifications
- Former field-grade officer or senior warrant officer; a former senior NCO who completed the Master Leader Course may be considered with MSD Director approval.
- At least five years of Aviation operations experience.
- CGSC/ILE graduate unless an approved exception applies.
- Average Aviation battalion or brigade S3/XO, command-post, air-ground integration, mission-planning, or comparable operational integration experience strongly preferred.
- Combat-development and requirements-writing experience required.
