Senior Aviation Military Analyst (Concepts, Integration & Synchronization Officer)
About the role
JANUS Research Group is seeking a Senior Aviation Military Analyst to support enterprise-level aviation modernization efforts. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Army Aviation concepts, integration, modernization synchronization, and capability development.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a senior subject matter expert supporting Army Aviation concepts, integration, synchronization, and modernization initiatives.
- Aid Aviation Capability Managers (ACMs) and senior leadership in synchronizing modernization plans across the Army Aviation Enterprise.
- Support alignment of aviation modernization efforts with the Army Modernization Strategy and enterprise-level priorities.
- Provide expertise on Army Aviation force design, organizational structures, and impacts associated with changes to aviation formations, equipment, and personnel.
- Analyze modernization initiatives, capability gaps, and force structure changes to provide recommendations to senior leaders.
- Support integrated scheduling processes to synchronize modernization activities, program milestones, and enterprise priorities.
- Cook up and integrate data inputs from multiple organizations into strategic communications and executive-level messaging.
- Support Army Aviation Enterprise Synchronization Model working groups focused on modernization integration, funding strategies, and program execution.
- Advise Aviation Capability Manager (ACM) and Capability Development Integration Directorate (CEAD) leadership on:
- Planning
- Programming
- Budgeting
- Execution (PPBE) processes
- Impacts to Army Aviation programs and modernization efforts
- Plan, coordinate, and facilitate Working Groups, Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), and enterprise synchronization forums.
- Lead and support aviation studies, operational assessments, and technology evaluation efforts.
- Develop and review aviation capability documentation, including:
- White papers
- Concept papers
- Requirements documents
- Operational views
- Tech analyses
- Prepare and deliver briefings and strategic recommendations to senior military and government leadership.
- Independently produce high-quality analytical products requiring minimal government revisions.
- Review and edit technical products to ensure graduate-level quality prior to government delivery.
Requirements
- Minimum 15 years of Army Aviation flight and combat operations experience.
- Rated Army Aviator with extensive operational aviation experience.
- Senior or Master Rated Aviator qualification required.
- Minimum 5 years of experience supporting:
- Capability management
- Combat developments
- Force modernization
- Requirements development
- Comprehensive understanding of:
- Army Aviation force design
- Aviation formation structure
- Modernization impacts on personnel and equipment
- Army Aviation enterprise planning processes
- Demonstrated experience supporting enterprise-level synchronization of aviation modernization initiatives.
- Experience planning, coordinating, and integrating data from multiple organizations into strategic-level communications.
- Experience planning, executing, and facilitating:
- Working Groups
- Integrated Product Teams (IPTs)
- Senior leader synchronization forums
- Experience serving as a Team Lead conducting:
- Aviation studies
- Operational test events
- Capability assessments
- Technology evaluations
- Experience authoring a Joint Requirements Oversight Council (JROC)-approved Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System (JCIDS) document.
- Experience producing graduate-level written products, including:
- White papers
- Concept papers
- Requirements documents
- Operational views
- Strategic assessments
- Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently from broad senior-level guidance.
Qualifications
- Active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance required.
- Experience supporting Army Aviation Capability Managers (ACMs), Capability Development Integration Directorate (CEAD), Army Futures Command, or Headquarters Department of the Army (HQDA) organizations.
- Direct participation as a team member in an Army Aviation Enterprise Synchronization Model working group.
- Experience supporting Army Aviation modernization funding strategy development and execution.
- Experience advising senior Army leaders on modernization priorities, program execution, and resource allocation.
- Familiarity with Army Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) processes.
- Experience integrating aviation modernization efforts across multiple programs and stakeholder organizations.

Pay
The pay range for this position is $80,000 - $120,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
Schedule
The schedule for this position is full-time, Monday through Friday, with occasional travel to Fort Rucker, Alabama.
