About the Role
Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicines is recruiting for a Senior Medical Science Liaison – Immunology (Dermatology) based in the Long Island, NY territory. The ideal candidate would reside within Long Island, including Nassau County or Suffolk County, or in nearby areas such as Queens or Brooklyn, with the ability to effectively cover the assigned territory.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a scientific engagement plan for the territory that aligns with Medical Affairs strategy, prioritized medical objectives, and approved core medical assets.
- Engage in high-quality, two-way scientific exchange with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and Healthcare Providers (HCPs) to serve as a resource, understand their perspectives, and identify trends, unmet needs, and educational gaps.
- Identify and cultivate strong professional relationships with community and academic HCPs/KOLs to advance scientific credibility.
- Utilize insights and MSL tools to develop a strategic approach for customer engagements, proactively uncovering gaps, risks, and opportunities to enhance medical impact.
- Leverage AI tools and insights to enhance decision-making, streamline processes, and improve efficiency and outcomes across core responsibilities.
- Identify provider educational needs and address them with tailored, scientifically balanced responses that advance learning and deepen understanding.
- Deliver relevant scientific data tailored to HCP needs through clear and effective dialogue, adapting communication style to stakeholder context.
- Collect and submit high-quality actionable insights aligned with current strategic priorities to inform medical strategy, asset planning, and cross-functional discussions.
- Provide point-of-contact support to investigators and internal partners for both company-sponsored and investigator-initiated studies.
- Respond to unsolicited research/clinical inquiries from external stakeholders with scientifically sound, objective, and compliant information.
- Execute upon the current Medical Affairs strategy and MSL priorities while balancing short-term execution with longer-term medical objectives.
- Collaborate compliantly with internal stakeholders, including MSL field partners, R&D, Medical Affairs teams, clinical operations, and appropriate interactions with Sales and Marketing.
- Demonstrate strong scientific acumen through self-study, journal clubs, educational seminars, congress attendance, and scientific discussions with peers.
- Foster a culture of inclusion and belonging, supporting collaborative One J&J goals at local and national levels.
- Develop competence in regulatory, compliance, and corporate policies, including Medical Affairs SOPs and guidelines.
- Develop and implement a performance and development plan, and conduct leadership projects to enhance organizational capabilities.
- Perform administrative tasks in a timely, accurate, and compliant manner (e.g., expense reports, activity documentation).
Qualifications
- Doctorate-level degree or equivalent experience (PharmD, PhD, MD, Advanced Practice Providers, etc.).
- Post-graduate experience required for Doctoral-level candidates, with preference for therapeutic clinical experience.
- 2+ years of relevant experience, including demonstrated success as an MSL.
- Strong scientific/therapeutic expertise with skills in research, data analysis, clinical expertise, problem-solving, strategic thinking, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Ability to support a defined territory with up to 70% travel.
- Valid US Driver’s License.
Preferred Qualifications
- Residency/fellowship preferred.
- Knowledge or experience in the therapeutic area.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CoPilot, and remote technologies.
- Demonstrated commitment to learning emerging technologies, such as AI.
Pay
The anticipated base pay range for this position is: $137,000.00 - $235,750.00
