Overview

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is hiring an experienced Sr. Laboratory Scientist to work full evenings (1300-2330) in Transfusion Services. Generous Sign on Bonus up to $20,000 for qualified candidates!

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory testing and interpret test results using scientific knowledge and principles of test procedures and disease processes
• Recommend contingency testing
• Develop, maintain, and manage daily technical operations, including staff training and education
• Implement instrumentation and accreditation readiness

Requirements

• Bachelor’s in medical technology or Biology/Chemical Science (required)
• ASCP, AMT, or AAB certification (required)
• 3 years of laboratory tech experience (required)
• Blood bank experience
