Senior Medical Biller

About the role

This position is responsible for processing medical bills and ensuring accurate coding and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Review and process insurance claims for accuracy and completeness.
• Ensure timely submission of claims to various insurance carriers.
• Resolve discrepancies and appeals related to billing and coding issues.
• Work closely with physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure proper documentation and coding.
• Manage patient accounts and communicate with patients regarding payment plans and balances.
• Comply with regulatory requirements and maintain compliance with HIPAA standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in medical billing and coding.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and coding systems (ICD-10).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

Skills

• Proficient in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Experience with medical billing software.
• Strong attention to detail.
